Harnessing Indigenous Wisdom

Indigenous plants such as Artemisia afra, known by names like Lengana, uMhlonyane, and sage wood, have been used in South Africa for generations to combat coughs, colds, fevers, and nasal congestion. House of Indiza™ emphasizes that these plants are consumed for their therapeutic benefits and are not claimed to cure diseases. Alongside Artemisia afra, other indigenous teas like Lippia javanica (Mosukujane) and Sutherlandia frutescens are known for their potential in relieving flu symptoms.

Empowering Rural Women

House of Indiza™ collaborates with rural women in Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Eastern Cape, and Northern Cape, who share their knowledge of harvesting, drying, and pre-processing the indigenous herbs. The carefully blended plants and leaves are then transformed into tea, respecting the specific sizes required for teabags. By involving these women, House of Indiza™ not only supports their livelihoods. it also preserves and promotes African indigenous knowledge.
